I See Me: My very own pirate tale review and giveaway

When I handed this book I see me: My very own pirate tale book to my preschool son and told him this book is especially for him, he was excited.  As I started to read the dedication, he became really excited and surprised because the book had his name.

We liked everything about this book.  In the first page the book has our personal dedication, the year of publication, author's name, illustrator's name, designer's name and copyright information. This feature makes the book professional and special. The front hardcover, back cover and the bind of this children's storybook is cool.
I see me: My very own pirate tale book starts off with a descriptive opening, where a pirate looks for a fine sailor. The pirate is looking for clues as the book starts to spell the first name of the child.

Once the first name is completed, the pirate lets his crew know the name and they get ready to find the last name in an island so they could open the treasure chest.  The book continues with the letters of the last name.
I like this pause in-between as it helps children to realize that they have finished spelling their first name and then they start spelling their last name.

The letters of the name clearly printed on one side, progresses to help the child sound out their name i.e. the first page has Y, then the next has Yu... and so on.
The story continues with pictures and story sentences to suit the character trait of the child.  The character traits begin with the letters from the child's name.  I like the choice of character traits the author has picked as it reflects my little boy so well :)

For example Y stands for "Choose this Young-hearted boy who knows how to play.  He'll help with your hunt for the treasure today!"  And it has a picture of a yellow snapper.
Even if the name has the same two letters, the character traits, sentence and pictures are different.
My son is learning to spell and write his name to get ready for school, so this book is very encouraging as he repeats the sounds and learns to recognize the letters in his name.
The words rhyme so it is easy for young children to feel like they can read :) a good confidence builder.

My son enjoyed all the pages of the book, especially the part when his name was said thrice to open the treasure chest.  In the end of the story, the pirate gives the first mate a hat and announces him to be the captain of the ship.  To complement this action of the pirate the book comes with a lovely bandanna with the child's first name embroidered on it.

My son didn't notice his name on the bandanna until he was looking though the pictures I took, and he was quite surprised and said, "Look mom my name's on it."  He likes this cute bandanna very much and wears it often.

In the end of the book there is an encyclopedia with pictures of sea animals in alphabetical order.  The consonants have two animals and the vowels have four.  It also has a game asking children to go back through the pages to find a hidden coin; even I had fun finding the coin :)

My daughter enjoys reading this book to her brother as she finds it really special, after all her name is on the dedication of the book.
I See Me also has personalized placemats to match the book.  This professional book, bandanna and placemat will make a cherishable gift for children age 0 to 10 years.
