My eight year old daughter's new found interest is weaving, so she found it fun to do this Threadz scarf kit with me. Each kit valued at $25 comes with instructions, yarn and the necessary tools. This scarf kit has 2 weaving looms and 1 shuttle. We like the bright thick red yarn and the plum, red, grape and blackberry feather yarn that comes in the kit.
I started off and helped my daughter with this project, so she was able to repeat and do some weaving lines on her own. Although, the kit can be made in a couple of hours we are taking our time and doing a little each day.
We found it little difficult to start off and understand the instructions and then finally figured it out :) Children will need help in starting each colour and putting the knots to the thread and shuttle each time. I am glad all the measurements are done for us and the threads are cut into the appropriate size.
There are three different Threadz kits that allow us to make a Beanie, Scarf or Purse. This hand weaved scarf is perfect for the upcoming cold weather and is a wonderful project to do after school :)
