Knowing how to sew is a wonderful and a valuable tool that allows us to add our own personalized decor and touches in our home. Learning the skill of using a sewing machine has opened many opportunities for me to become creative. My new HE-240 Brother Sewing and Embroidery Machine increases my enjoyment for sewing and makes it easy for me to create unique projects.
I really like the sleek design of the machine, as it is compact. The machine is designed to give our projects that customized, higher-end look, as it has 67 built-in stitches, 70 built-in embroidery designs and 5 built-in Embroidery Fonts.
This machine allows both beginners and experienced to take pride in their work. I am pleased that the instructions on the CD and book are clear, so we can use the machine to its utmost capabilities without feeling overwhelmed.
One of my favourite things about this HE240 brother machine is being able to sew without using the footer controller. I like the ease of using the stop/start button to stitch. We can also control the sewing speed by sliding the switch to slow, medium or fast. We can also sew reinforcement stitches easily by pressing the reverse stitch button.
The sewing machine has numbers printed on it that indicates how to thread, wind the bobbin and place the bobbin, so we can refer to it easily and always do it correctly. I like that the machine has thread cutters in many places. We can thread the needle automatically by pulling a lever down slowly. There is also has a push-button that allows us to automatically cut the thread.
The machine has a Quick-SetTM bobbin. I am glad that the machine lets us know when the bobbin thread is coming to an end on its LCD screen. The backlit touch screen LCD shows us all the designs and other features we can use and change i.e. stitch width, length and many more. There is also a stylus that comes with the machine, however we can use our fingertips to change settings on the screen. The LCD screen is black and white; I think it would be super cool if the LCD was in colour.
It is simple to get creative and stitch buttonholes, buttons, zippers and more using the machine. This sewing machine has 10 styles of one-step automatic buttonhole.
There is slot on the exterior of the machine for us to personalize it and put our own picture. I decided to put the sewing stitches card inside it, so I can easily see the designs. This machine comes with a soft shell plastic cover we can use when the machine is not in use. I will be sharing the details about the embroidery aspect of this machine, and the projects I did soon.

ReplyDeleteThank you love the things I can do with it :)
DeleteI'm not a sewer/seamstress but this looks like a fabulous sewing machine. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat machine looks awesome. The features are extremely unique.
ReplyDeleteDon't have the skills to use that but it looks really nice
ReplyDeleteI do have a sewing machine that is about 20 years old and never use it. This one though, would be hard not to use! I love that it does embroidery.
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome machine. I just bought one. Originally I thought I would use it in conjunction with my old machine to avoid changing thread colours so often, but this is so nice and easy to use, I doubt I will ever want to use the old machine. It is also nice that I can plug my computer into it and use embroidery designs downloaded from the internet.
ReplyDeleteI am having trouble finding software to create monograms... anyone have any suggestions. I have priced the software but WOW is it expensive.
ReplyDeleteI bought this machine in 2009 and I'm still discovering and learning! It has improved my sewing skills.
ReplyDeleteA design CD was very helpful, I picked it up for $15.00 on Ebay. Although many were for the larger hoop, there were still hundreds of smaller designs.
