Lets make a Toxin-Free Generation and Win any product you wish from Seventh Generation

Seventh Generation derives its name from the Great Law of the Iroquois that states, "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations." The company gives us seven simple tips to live life more toxin-free.   

1. Once a week, open all the windows in your house for five minutes no matter the season, so the vapours can be released and the house will breath fresh air. 

 2. Avoid recycling receipts. They may look like paper and feel like paper, but they shouldn't be recycled like paper as it contains BPA (Bisphenol A), which will contaminate the other recyclables in the mix. Throw the receipts into the trash or go paperless. 

3. Use glass containers for lunches and food storage, as plastic containers may have harmful chemicals. 

4. Use reusable cup or mug instead of containers that are made using trees, which are thrown out in landfills after just one use. 

5. If something gives off a scent that makes you cringe, it’s a sign to step away as it might be a Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) and the less of those you inhale, the better. 

6. Get a plant and improve your indoor air quality. 

7. Beware: “unscented” is not the same as “fragrance-free". “Unscented” fragrance can contain hundreds of secret chemicals. Improve your label literacy and be aware of what’s really inside the products you buy. 

The effects of chemicals on our planet may not be seen immediately, but we know that they will impact our future generations. Switching to plant-based products is a small and easy change that can make a difference.

I haven't used Seventh Generation laundry detergent before, so I was curious to try their Natural 4X Laundry free and clear detergent. This 1.47L of detergent allows us to do 66 loads of laundry depending on how much liquid we use each time. The entire packaging of this product uses 66% less plastic than a typical 100oz 2X laundry bottle, which I thought is neat. This hypoallergenic detergent doesn't leave a smell on the finished laundry products, which is perfect for those who don't like any smell on their clothing. I like using this detergent because there is no strong scents, but would like a slight smell of freshness after my laundry is done which is missing in this fresh and clear detergent. I would prefer to try their geranium, blossoms and vanilla detergent, which I haven't used before.
