Dads are very special :) and we are glad Disney Junior is celebrating this special person in our lives with wonderful shows and a heartwarming family movie.
Set your PVRs for June 15th at 6pm ET to watch Finding Nemo on Disney Junior without commercials. This story is about an overly protective clownfish embarking on a daring rescue mission when his son Nemo gets scooped up by a diver. Disney Junior will also be airing other shows that feature male role models throughout the day on June 16th.
In order celebrate the loving bond of a parent and child, just like the underwater adventure of Nemo and his dad my children helped me present these underwater ebelskiver treats to their dad. Dads are so special that they need to be celebrated everyday.
To make a dozen classic ebelskiver I halved this recipe you will need...
1/2 cup +1/8 cup flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp sugar
1 egg separated
1/2 cup buttermilk
oil to grease the pan
chocolate chips
Beat the egg whites until it forms stiff peaks and keep it aside.
Whisk the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients without over stirring. Then slowly fold in the beaten egg white to the mixture.
Heat the ebelskiver pan over medium heat and oil the pan with neutral oil such as vegetable oil. Put 1 tbsp filling inside each hole and place a couple of chocolate chip inside the batter and cook one side for 2 to 4 minutes. Then turn the ebelskiver to the other side with a chop stick and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes before serving it warm.
We presented it like jelly-fish from the ocean.
