I long to spend quality time with my children at the end of the day, especially after school started in September. We have been quite busy this summer so like me, my children prefer to stay home and read a book or do other fun things indoors these days.
To relax and revitalize we do many things like...
Bake desserts: Baking teaches many skills like math and reading and the end product is something the whole family will enjoy.
Play board games: My children love playing board games with us. It is always fun to play games together and this a good time to teach them how to play it properly; while giving them a chance to win :)
Make crafts: A good way to use recycle material, get our fingers dirty and make treasures to decorate our home.
Watch movies together: Watching a movie together is a wonderful way to have fun, laugh and learn. My son loves Thomas and Friends, so we are happy the Thomas & Friends: King of the Railway movie came out on September 24th. The movie is about the steam team's quest when a special guest arrives on Sodor with a big surprise and important jobs for Thomas, Percy and James. The engines meet new friends and discover suits of armour, coats of arms and legends of long-ago heroes. Their bravery is tested when their new friend Stephen goes missing. Watch the movie to see if Thomas finds him on time and if the engines discover the truth about the Island of Sodor's biggest mystery. This movie is also available in French.
Play family fitness games on our XBOX: I find it fun to exercise along with my children, as it motivates us to do the exercises.
Play with toys: Sometimes the best is when we become children ourselves and play with them. Since my son is a big Thomas & Friends fan, he gets very excited when new toys come out. Thomas & Friends shows, toys, games and books have relatable stories and characters that allow children to use their imagination.
Both my children have their favourite engines. My daughter likes Percy because he is green and I think her good nature to help others is similar to him. My son has two favourite characters one being Thomas and the other is Spencer. He likes Spencer, the silver express engine because Spencer is fast and strong. I think like Thomas, my son tries to do his best and be useful even doing things that is not his age.
In time for the holidays Fisher Price has two Thomas & Friends toys that children over 3 will enjoy.
The Take-n-Play Thomas' Adventure Castle Playset is a portable playset that is inspired by the new King of the Railway movie. Children will enjoy replaying the movie with this playset.
Trackmaster Castle Quest Sets feature motorized engines that power themselves around the track. This battery operated entertaining set is also inspired by the movie. Children will enjoy using their imagination to help Thomas find the missing King's crown.
Spending time with our family always bring pleasure and helps us reconnect. Whenever I am doing any of these activities with my children, I see them growing up and showing their unique characters.
