A well-wrapped gift is not just a gift, but a great way to add some festive flare to our home décor.
Scotch Brand and lifestyle expert Shoana Jensen have prepared creative ideas to show us how to dress up our presents by incorporating great design trends from this holiday season.
The basics:
- Select a theme for the gift and pick a wrapping paper.
- Have a good selection of accessories nearby, including ribbons, bows, gift tags and a pair of quality scissors.
- Tape is key. Scotch GiftWrap Tape features a satin finish that disappears on most shiny gift wrap papers. If we are using matte paper then use Scotch Magic Tape which has a matte-finish. To get a completely seamless look use Scotch Brand Double-Sided Tape. This will ensure our pretty parcel is as polished looking as possible.
Hot trends for holiday decorating and gift wrapping:
Rustic meets glam: wrap your gift in packaging paper or burlap and adorn with a sparkly or metallic ribbon to complete the look. If you have a birch tree around then grab a piece of bark and tie it in.
60’s vintage: It is all about the colour palette. Think shrimp pink and avocado green. Look for paper with matte finishes and geometric patterns. Modernize with a shiny bow.
Pop of peacock: A peacock-themed parcel is as easy as it is fun and colourful. Add a few peacock feathers to the outside of your parcel, which is available at most craft stores and stick with jewel tone wrapping paper.
Happy Wrapping!
