Cheering For Team Canada as they go to 2014 Winter Olympics

We are proud to be Canadian, since there is no place like home. There are lots of reasons for our love and pride, which we show by being kind to those around us, travelling to see the different and unique parts of Canada. We support events that appeal to us in our local community as well as all over Canada by participating and being part of. Being long time lovers of the Olympics, we are excited about the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympics and looking forward to gather family and friends to cozy up and cheer Team Canada.
It is a family tradition to sit together and watch the Olympics while enjoying delicious snacks. Watching the Olympics boosts our own enthusiasm to get outside and do adventure sports like skiing, snowshoeing and trying new ones. 

Four years ago when the Winter Olympics was held in Vancouver, it was my daughter's first time watching and I remember how enthusiastic she was. Both my children are old enough to watch it with us this year as the team goes to Sochi, Russia for the 22nd Olympic Winter Games. As my children are growing and trying to expand their knowledge and involvement in different sports and activities they are eagerly looking forward to watch the official games when it starts on Feb 7th.

Our favourite sports to watch are figure skating, curling and skiing. Last year, my daughter and I had an awesome opportunity to watch and take pictures with famous figure skating stars like Patrick Chan.

My family will be pretty much glued to the television except for occasional stretches and washroom breaks. Due to this reason, I prefer to prepare snacks and meals ahead of time. Savoury short eats like rolls, pastries are a must on the list. I will also be making sweet pastries, apple pies and macaroons as well as keep lots of beverages, nuts and chips so we can enjoy them while watching.
