From August 15th to September 1st there are lots to do for the whole family at the 136th annual Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto, Ontario. It is a wonderful place to hear music, smell the aroma of funnel cakes and cotton candy, and be part of many shows, rides and exhibits. Last year we learned a lot about farming at the CNE. There will be lots of new shows and attractions at the CNE this year, as well as returning popular attractions such as the CNE Zip Line, Sky Ride, SuperDogs, The Flying Wallendas, the 65th Annual Canadian International Air Show and more.
New at CNE this year:
The CanStruction of Mayoral Candidates: For the first time, CNE attendees have a chance to see Toronto’s top three mayoral candidates constructed entirely out of 10,000 cans of food. Visitors are encouraged to bring cans of food to show their electoral support in front of each display. Donations will go to a local food bank.
Northern Comfort Saloon: Wild West meets New Country! Cowboys and cowgirls are invited to take swig and swing inside this all-new entertainment experience featuring live performances by exciting country artists, line dancing and a mechanical bull.
SKETCH: A brand new music, entertainment and live-art installation stage comes to the CNE this year! Over the course of 18 days, the SKETCH stage at the Warehouse Outlets in the Direct Energy Centre (Hall D) will have performances by a premier team of local DJs, musicians, dancers and urban visual artists.
The Amazing Kreskin: With a showman’s flair, a comedian’s wit, and the capacities of a bona fide mentalist or thought-reader, is known as “The World’s Youngest Hypnotist”.
Mirage: Acrobatic Show: Acrobatics return to the CNE this year with an exciting new show. The colourful extravaganza will feature cirque performers, artists, aerialists and more.
