Painting is one of the top do-it-yourself projects in Canada because it is inexpensive to do it ourselves. Taking on this project is fairly easy, and fun. I feel every time we do our own painting it also gives us a sense of accomplishment when the project is complete. However, every paint project comes with challenges including paint spills, the inconvenience of temporarily packing up paint supplies when we cannot finish a project in a single day and keeping paint tools organized and neat in a single storage place between paint jobs. This new Canadian made Roll and Stow solves all these problems.
There are three challenges that a person tackling a home painting
project will encounter.
First, moving trays of paint around a room can be a stressing experience. Even with drop sheets and careful planning, lifting full paint trays or paint cans in rooms with carpets and hardwood floors can cause huge messes when spills occur. This Roll and Stow is a rolling workstation that eliminates the need to pick up trays or other containers of paint. The Roll and Stow holds various sizes and models of paint trays and paint and stain cans. All we have to do is roll the Roll and Stow to the new work location effortlessly, as it rolls on carpets, drop cloths, and hard surfaces. Another good thing is that the tray will not roll away while loading paint onto a roller.

Second, busy DIY’ers often cannot complete a painting project in a single three or four hour time
period. Many times projects take a few days to complete. During interruptions or breaks on the job, a
lot of time is lost wrapping brushes and rollers, and returning
paint to the container so that the tools and paint do not dry
out. With its specially shaped engineered base, Roll and Stow easily transforms into a handy anti-drying storage unit with a
secure lid that keeps paint, rollers and paint brushes from
drying out for up to one full week. When it’s time to resume
painting, simply remove the lid and get back to work. By
using the Roll and Stow, we can stop wasting paint that is washed out of
brushes or poured out of trays is virtually eliminated, saving
valuable dollars.
Last but not least, DIY’ers face the challenge of
conveniently storing paint supplies between projects. With
its locking lid system, paint tools and supplies can be stored
in one compact unit that is easy to carry to the next painting
project.
The Roll and Stow comes fully assembled and can carry up to
40 lbs (18 kg) of supplies and tools. In addition, up to 150
lbs (68 kg) of containers and objects can be transported
using the base with its sturdy wheels. The product is also
great for many chores around the house including washing the car, sealing driveways, pool
maintenance and staining a deck. It is available at Home Hardware stores across Canada, as well as BMR and La Maison du Peintre with a
retail price of approximately $47.99.
