When I was younger, during the holidays I remember my dad buying a typewriter and making me learn the keys and learn to type. I am so glad I learned this skill because whenever someone in my family, a friend, or a relative wanted a letter or a resume to be typed, I was always the person everyone came to. When we bought our first family desktop, I was already familiar with the keyboard and I was so glad to be introduced to Microsoft Word. Growing up my spare time on weekends were spent typing essays, creating simple spreadsheets and of course PowerPoint slides. For me, Microsoft Office started it all.
I have become accustomed to Microsoft office and I get very excited when a new version is released with new features. With technology advancing, as a family we try to keep up and adapt to it. With more than one computer and tablets in the household it is practical and cost efficient to have software like Microsoft Office 365.
Microsoft Office 365 is the Office we all know and love, only better. Familiar tools like Word, Outlook and Excel, plus new additions like Skype, OneDrive, and Sway – help you get things done anywhere, anytime, on any device. And best of all, Office 365 is always up to date, including Office 2016 apps for PC and Mac. Office 365 Home, can be installed on up to 5 PCs and Macs, 5 tablets and 5 phones including iOS and Android. With a Microsoft Office 365 subscription we do not have to buy an individual copy of Microsoft Office for each device.
Now with my own children going to school, I see flashbacks of my school days when my daughter does her projects on the computer using Microsoft Office. My daughter loves typing on the keyboard and loves to do her work on Microsoft Word. Unlike me, she likes to type her projects directly on Microsoft Word rather than writing on paper first. This holiday season, my daughter is making greeting cards for her friends using Microsoft Publisher and loves how she can get creative with them with so many templates available. She also loves creating presentations and loves animating clipart on the slides.
As a family, we love using Skype to keep in touch with family and friends abroad. It has become a great tool to communicate and keep in touch. With video chats it has become easier to connect with family across the globe.
My husband loves using Microsoft Onenote, and Onedrive. He loves using Microsoft Onenote to gather information he wants to refer to later when browsing the web. He says it is great for gathering information such as creating plans or lists when working on hobbies or work projects because this information can be accessed from any device. We both use Microsoft Onedrive on our phones to upload photos and documents. This is a great way to save space on our phone. There is also a feature to auto upload our pictures if we wish.
On November 26th, as part of Microsoft’s great Black Friday deals, Office 365 Home and Student will be available for $89.00 (or $69.00 with the purchase of any PC). Additional product details and Office deals can be found here.

I love Microsoft Office.
ReplyDeleteI love how you can access your document anywhere thanks to Office 365.
I don't really use my computer for this sort of thing, I have very little in the way of lists or the like. I do like how you can get things done anywhere, anytime, on any device - that is really forward thinking. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love Microsoft Office! Use it every day!
ReplyDeleteI think I may have to purchase this! Our office software is VERY outdated on our laptop - this would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteMicrosoft Office is amazing...I use it all the time.
ReplyDeleteMy husband uses Microsfot Office, he loves it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't used it yet, but it looks very practical and useful.
ReplyDeleteOffice 365 is so convenient!
ReplyDeleteI upgraded to Windows 10 a few days ago, which also upgraded my Office to 2016. I recently started using Skype to call toll free numbers, as I went back to prepaid to save on cell phone costs. I use most of the Office products but, prefer to store files in my network or hard drives vs the cloud. Office is strictly in my computer but, I do have my calendar synced to my phone via Akruto.
ReplyDeleteHey, Meg! I use Akruto too! I sync all of Outlook -- including Tasks, Notes, and Contacts with my smartphone. Like you, I prefer to stay out of the cloud. It was a pain to undo Windows 10's connection with the cloud.
DeleteI'm thinking I need to really upgrade, I have always liked using Microsoft so this new one would be great to try out as well!!
ReplyDeleteI am still happy with my Office 2014 but I can see the advantages here
