With the LeapFrog Number Lovin’ Oven, little chefs can enjoy hours of pretend-play fun with learning secretly baked in. The Number Lovin’ Oven encourages children to talk, sing and get their number skills through 30+ songs and phrases. The toy includes 16 fun ingredients - 4 pizza slices, 3 slices of bread, 2 cupcakes, 1 fried egg, 1 skillet, 1 spatula, 1 baking tray, and 2 plates.


I like how we can use the ingredients to teach children math concepts such as fractions. They are encouraged to cut food into 2, 3 or 4 equal pieces to build math skills, and they can press the chef’s hat on the oven to learn and count along to lively songs. Little ones can move the number slider to practice number recognition and to learn concepts such as high, medium, and low temperature settings, as well as shorter and longer cooking times.

Children can explore the oven in their own unique way, as they open and close the oven door to activate responses about cooking and sharing. Children will get excited when they hear the sizzle sound when the skillet is placed on the stove, and as they bake bread, pizza and cupcakes on the baking tray, and count down with the timer and see the light blink off when the food is ready.

My son likes building, and enjoys playing with the Scout's Build and Discover Tool Set. Taking the doghouse apart and putting it back together using the 5 included tools - hammer, ruler, saw, screwdriver and wrench is exciting for children. They will enjoy the playful guidance from puppy pal Scout has he encourages children to count nails with him and to measure walls and windows. He also helps children find the right tool for each job by naming and matching colors; the red wrench fits the red bolt, and so on. Children will enjoy using the tools to saw, hammer, measure with the ruler, and tighten screws and bolts. While our children build with these tools it enhances their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, as well as improves their counting and colour matching. Little ones will enjoy the learning that happens through songs, phrases, and build-along fun.

I like that the roof doubles as a grab and go handle, which allows children to keep all their tools together and take them anywhere. My son likes to role-play with this kit as his toolbox and pretend that he is fixing things around the home like his dad.

I like how both these toys from LeapFrog teaches early math concepts to Toddlers and up, and lets children see that math is fun and it is needed for everyday life. I am glad these toys help our children develop skills that will prepare them for preschool and beyond.
