With a new year comes many reminders for us to make new resolutions! However, I like making goals and resolutions throughout the year. Incorporating meals from different cuisines is an exciting way to start of 2016, so I explored Ramen dishes from Japanese cuisine. I learned a lot about these dishes from the DK Ramen Fusion Cookbook by Nell Benton and from watching The Mind of a Chef Season 1 Episode 1 on Netflix.
Ramen dishes make healthy delicious full meals, as the dish has noodles, broth, and toppings that work harmoniously in texture and taste. Making Ramen dishes at home is new to me, so I enjoyed learning from this book. Since different variations of Ramen are influenced by different regions in Japan, I like that this book shows us both traditional and modern versions of classic Japanese broth soups.

One of the easiest and delicious recipes from this book that I immediately tried was the 6 minutes soft boiled egg, which turned out fabulous and went well with a meal I served.
To make these soft boiled eggs you will need...
6 cups water
4 eggs
Bring the water to a boil, and slowly lower the eggs to the boiling water and cook exactly for 6 minutes.
Turn off the heat and remove the eggs with a slotted spoon. Place in the eggs in the ice bath and let it stand for at least 10 minutes. Carefully peel the shell.
To cut without a mess place the egg on a cutting board. Start cutting slowly in a slicing motion and finish cutting quickly.
