This canvas art with a monogram and quilled flowers makes a beautiful display in any space. I like how adding the quilled flowers, and the Dimensional Effects to the monogram makes the display pop.
For this project, I used...
DecoArt Dimensional Effects
DecoArt Dimensional Effects
Americana Stencils Home Decor Series 6x18 - 3" Monogram Alphabet
Craft Twinkles Writers Silver
Variety of different coloured quilling paper
Quilled Creations dome mold
Canvas
Watercolours
Glue
Scissors
I used one of the letters from the Americana Stencils and placed it on the centre of the canvas. Then applied the DecoArt Dimensional Effects over the stencil and let it dry. I used watercolours and painted over the canvas.
I used the silver glitter craft twinkles writer to go over the letter.
I used the silver glitter craft twinkles writer to go over the letter.
I formed a variety of tear drop shaped quills and a tight rolled quill for the flowers. Using the dome mold I placed the tight quilled roll inside then the tear drop shapes around it and attached the petals of the flower. Once the flowers dry, it will have a curved shape.
For the stems I curved the quilling paper loosely and shaped it before gluing it in place.
For the leaves, I quilled a tear drop shape then curved the tips and pressed one edge to make different size leaves. Once all the quilling pieces dry, the canvas is ready to be displayed vertically.
