My family and I enjoy doing do-it-yourself and craft projects because it allows us to make unique pieces we can add to our space. I find when we handcraft items, we appreciate it and care for it more because it does not carry monetary value. The books at DK Made by Hand Boutique are an inspiring collection with lots of ideas, which children and adults will enjoy.
Supercraft by Sophie Pester and Catharina Bruns is a fabulous book with over 55 craft projects. The quick and simple DIY makeovers on this book inspires us to try it at home. I found most of the instructions easy to follow and do crafts that can be sewn, knit, crocheted, painted and more. The content in the book is separated by seasons.
If you love knitting and crocheting check the One Ball of Yarn book that has 35 patterns that range from hats, scarves, shawls, headbands, mittens, slippers, and booties to bags, and more. Simple step-by-step instructions make this book for any skill level.
With gardening season approaching the Grow it and Cook it book will be enjoyed by children. This colourful book shows children how they can start to grow vegetables and fruits from seeds, how to nurture plants, harvest, and make healthy meals with them. My children used the idea of designing popsicles sticks so they can use it as labels for different seeds and plants when we plant carrots, eggplants, and more.
I checked out the Simple Flower Arranging book by Mark Welford and Stephen Wicks, which shares cool step-by-step ideas on how we can use material from around our home to create admirable masterpieces. I look forward to share some of the ideas I have adapted from this book to make simple, creative flower arrangements that can be placed around our home or given as gifts.
