The Compact Smooth 2017 Mazda CX-3

We were able to truly go "zoom zoom" on this new 2017 Mazda CX-3. We enjoyed its smooth performance as we test drove it. It is a compact vehicle with all the features we need and more. It was perfect for our family of four for everyday use. There was enough cargo space for grocery shopping and small trips. 

We enjoyed the heated seating that is perfect for cool weather. The seats can warm up quickly, so use caution when travelling with young children.

The vent operation is in a knob format, which allows us to either fully open or close the air vents. The seats were quite comfortable. 

It was easy to slide the seats forward and backward to our desired position, or adjust the height and set the seats in the recline position. 

The rear seats have split folding ability. It also has a lock position when the seats are upright for safety. 

Mazda CX-3 has a keyless entry system, however if you want to use the auxiliary key, pull it out from the transmitter while pressing the knob. The back has an electric liftgate opener and a luggage compartment cover that is removable. 

Active driving display shows Mazda Radar Cruise Control, lane departure warning system, smart-city brake support, smart brake support, distance recognition support system, vehicle speed setting using cruise control, turn by turn and lane guidance, and vehicle speed. We found the i-Activesense features such as blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert similar to the Mazda CX-9 useful. 

Another bonus feature we found unique and useful was the Active Driving Display. This is a mini screen that opens in front of you when driving. It displays important information such as current speed, turn by turn directions and safety alerts. It is placed right in front of your viewing range and can be adjusted as well. I like that it automatically folds down when the vehicle is off. 

We found the Auto-Wiper control that senses rainfall on the windshield and turns on or off automatically to be useful. We can use the sport drive selection if we wish, and we enjoyed switching to this mode. In this mode, it felt like the pick up was faster, and we were able to feel the difference that has a "sporty" feel and sound. 

There are a couple of USB ports and an auxiliary jack in the front that was easily accessible by the driver and front seat passenger for ease and comfort. 

The navigation system is smooth to work with. The display is bright and the controls are in a perfect distance between the driver and the front passenger's arms length, so we can concentrate on the road. 

The display is not touch activated when the vehicle is moving for safety, however some of the features can be controlled using the knob controller in the center console. 

We enjoyed driving this mid SUV in small spaces. The back up camera is very clear and bright even at night. The grinding like sound for the lane departure can get annoying, we would have preferred a quiet beep. The lane departure system is very sensitive and we liked that there is an option of turning it off. 

We like the quality of the interior and the colour combination. The placement of the controls in this vehicle is well thought out.

We found the Mazda CX-3 comfy for everyone in the family. It is a great sub compact SUV packed with features and style. It is very well designed in the interior and the exterior, and we got quite a bit of praise for the looks of this vehicle.
