I have been learning to master the basics of crocheting, and have been doing a few crochet projects. As my interest in this craft has grown, I invested in a set of crochet hooks and have sewn a useful case for the hooks.
I find the Crochet: Visual Deck set that has 50 instructional cards, a 4.0mm crochet hook, and two small balls of yarn, helps us learn the basics of crocheting. The instructional cards explain everything we need to know from the different types of crochet hooks, how to choose the hooks, types of yarn, different yarn specifications, how to hold the hook and yarn, making a slip knot, different types of stitches, working on the rows and rounds, shaping and decreasing, a increase gauge, edging, designs, the abbreviations and symbols we find on designs, and many more. I find that this deck set is very handy. This kit is wonderful for beginners who have an interest to learn how to crochet.
Once you learn how to crochet, books such as 24-Hour Crochet Projects by Rita Weiss will be very helpful in inspiring us on how to make beautiful tops, scarves, hats, and purses.
The patterns shown in this book are easy to follow to make beautiful handmade projects. The book also has the basics mentioned in the back of the book in case we need to refer to it. The beginning of the book has a gallery of projects that I found inspiring.
