Pure Leaf Tea

During our visits to Sri Lanka, a country famous for its exceptional tea, we have had the pleasure to visit tea plantations. The landscapes in these regions are memorable and beautiful. I have seen the plantation workers hard at work during the heat of the day hand-picking every leaf that we enjoy. Most of the workers I have seen doing this tedious work are women. As tea-lovers, we have been indulging the delicious, different flavours of Pure Leaf tea.

Unilever has partnered with tea estates in Sri Lanka, Kenya, Indonesia, and China where delicate tea leaves are picked, rolled and dried. We really enjoy the aroma and the taste of authentic flavours in the different Pure Leaf tea flavours. Tea has different distinctive taste according to where and when it is grown.

Pure Leaf uses the long leaf method in which the leaves are gently bruised and exposed to get the leaf's natural essence. The leaf is gently rolled to get the specific flavour. These teas can be enjoyed without milk, as they are not bitter like the CTC or cut tear curl manufacturing method. Pure Leaf tea is sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms that ensure rigorous standards such as good agricultural practices that protect the ecosystems and wellbeing of local communities are met.   

The Pure Leaf Chai Tea combined with aromatic flavourful spices, Kenyan black tea with berries, the Kenyan black tea with Madagascar Vanilla, and Chinese green tea with Jasmine flowers are packed in transparent pyramid tea bags made from plant based material that are compostable. The structure of these silken bags have the space needed for the tea leaves to move, unfurl and release flavours when it is steeped. The Chinese green tea with gunpowder, and Earl Grey tea are available as loose leaf. 

The six different flavours of Pure Leaf tea are packaged in recyclable, reusable plastic transparent jars.
