Trolls, a wonderful family movie to cozy up and watch together is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. This movie will have everyone in the family laughing and crying, as we watch Poppy and Branch work together to rescue their friends from the Bergens. It is a movie that kept us on the edge of our seats with its adventure, and the animated songs definitely made us move. I like how the movie encourages the importance of finding inner happiness and reminds us to be happy with who we are.
After watching Trolls, my children and I were inspired by the bright colours of the movie and wanted to #BringHomeHappy. We setup a craft table and did lots of different activities.
We did a variety of scrapbooking themed crafts, created posters and did some colouring.
We enjoyed doing some fingerprint art. For this fun art activity all you need is an ink pad of colours and a marker preferably black.
We decided to make an album with the characters from the movie, and put the pages together in a booklet by binding it with yarn and thread.
Inspired directly from the movie, we did this cute framed photographs of some of the Trolls characters. For this craft you will need...
Popsicle sticks
Metallic colour watercolours
White school glue
Construction paper in different colours
Stickers of Trolls characters or coloured drawings
Stickers or small embellishments
Scissors
Place a sticker of the Trolls character onto a piece of construction paper. Glue four popsicle sticks around the construction paper to frame the picture using the white glue and leave it to air dry.
Once it dries, paint the popsicle sticks with the metallic watercolours. Once the watercolours dry put the frames close together and place the small stickers and embellishments.
We didn't frame around all the pictures, instead connected it together by overlapping.
You can mount the frames onto a construction paper or Bristol board to keep the frames upright.
We really like that this movie is one that we can watch over and over again. There are lots of craft inspirations in this movie! When you are planning to setup your craft space, look for Trolls Shape Sugar cut out Pillsbury cookies it would be a neat cookie to serve and enjoy while doing Trolls themed crafts.
