We enjoy watching the Star Wars saga. The book Solo A Star Wars Story The Official Guide written by Pablo Hidalgo will be enjoyed by fans curious to know about Han Solo's adventures, and discover the places, faces, and things he encounters. It gives details on the things we see in the movie, so we have a better understanding of the purpose and functions of things that come up in the movie. For example, Han Solo has an electronically shielded pocket in his jacket for unprotected data cards, and about other gadgets on the characters and what they do. The close up pictures with captions are fun to read.
The Art book from the Big Ideas series guides the readers chronologically through art history, as it covers works from all over the globe. We will be able to learn about the movement, style, and technique behind each key work that illuminates a different aspect of history. The content is separated into six main timelines: Prehistoric and Ancient Art; The Medieval World; Renaissance and Mannerism; Baroque to Neoclassicism; Romanticism to Symbolism; and the Modern Age.
Art has been a building block of civilization, in which many cultures and society has flourished with it. Artistic work has taken a variety of forms and served many purposes, constantly evolving in the process. In early history, art has been linked to beliefs such as ancient Egyptians drew images that would protect the dead from evil and guide them in their journey afterlife. Religious expressions using art varied among cultures, and helped educate the illiterate. Art in the Islamic world took a different perspective that avoided depiction of the human form and adopted calligraphy to represent divine words, and decorated with geometric and plantlike motifs.
The Astronomy book tells about our discoveries of space, time, and the physics of the cosmos. Prior to mid 20th century when light pollution exploded, starry patterns of the sky, phases of the moon, meandering of the planets were part of daily experiences and perpetual souse of wonder. In this book, we are guided chronologically through the history of the subject from ancient speculations about nature of the universe through Copernican Revolution to theories of dark energy and cosmic expansion.
The book is separated into seven sections from Myth to Science; The telescope revolution; Uranus to Neptune; The rise of Astrophysics; Atoms, Stars, and Galaxies; New windows of the universe; and the Triumph of Technology.
DK's Big Ideas series are reference books that focuses on each of the subjects there are books on Sociology, Economics and more.
