Learn new skills with Klutz Kits

We love Klutz Kits because each kit comes with everything we need to get started on the art or craft right away! My children have explored a variety of Klutz kits over the years and they like the simple to understand instructions with step-by-step illustrations and pictures. Kids will be able to manage most of the activities independently. 

We have taken a closer look at three kits - Air Blast Cannon, LEGO Gadgets, and Melt and Mold Jewelry that encourage creativity and hands-on learning. These allow children to build on a variety of developmental skills. 

Air Blast Cannon is part of Klutz Maker Lab, which encourages STEAM education. It includes a book with engineering basics, instructions and fun activities children can make on their own. It has all the pieces needed to assemble the air blast cannon from scratch. 

Children and adults alike will enjoy launching the darts at targets up to ten paces away once the cannon is completed. My children enjoyed the process of making the air powered cannon using simple syringes that are to be moved left, right, up or down to aim and fire by harnessing the power of air.   

In the LEGO Gadgets kit using the 58 LEGO® elements and paper craft sheets children can build 11 machines such as gravity drop coaster, catapult, and many more. It is fun to make, experiment, and then play with the machines that are built. There are open ended prompts that encourage creative thinking so children can come up with their own designs adding extra items they find around the home. 

Once the gadget is built, the book relates it to machines and objects found in the real world. For example once they build the claw control they can compare it to chopsticks, encouraging children to think outside the box.   

Melt and Mold Jewelry is a fun way to design trendy jewelry by simply melting magical plastic pellets with warm water. Then, mold them into a cute cactus, mystical moon, or any of the 19 stylish shapes included in the silicone mold. 

Children will enjoy creating up to 50 charms and make 10 different projects that include pendant necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets, which would make cute handmade gifts to give family and friends.
