Easy projects that can be done within a few hours, which transforms a space to feel creative and fresh are our favourite type of DIY projects. This summer, we painted most of our plastic planting pots with Americana decor outdoor living paint. This specially designed acrylic paint can be used for interior and exterior home decor projects. This eggshell finish weather resistant paint is smell free and easy to work with.
We love how this paint has given an attractive look to plain boring looking pots. It has changed the entire space to feel lively and creative.
Adding the gold with the fountain blue to some of the pots has given a beautiful contrast and a Mediterranean feel. The paint has made the existing texture pop.
The best thing we like about this paint is that it doesn't require an additional sealer, and we don't need to sand or prime before using. In our excitement to paint we didn't take too many before pictures. This Americana decor outdoor living paint can be used on a variety of surfaces including wood, plastic, terra cotta, concrete, and more.
We used textured paint for the first time to make a colourful focal wall using a stencil and meadow green. More about this project on this post.
November 2018 and March 2019 |
We tried the textured paint on a pot as well. We first painted the surface of a plain plastic pot with red, then using a stencil applied green and gold textured paint.
Once the textured paint dried, we used acrylic paint and a black permanent marker to add details.

This fun, easy project of painting the plant pots with different Americana decor outdoor living paint and textured paint has added colour and excitement to our garden space.
