It is sad when parts of our history keeps repeating itself, it is as though humanity hasn't learned anything from its past actions. We know many people have sacrificed their lives for justice, and we are still seeing a world of injustice around us, it is probably because of peoples' ignorance. I think it is important for us, as parents, to teach ourselves and our children about past events, hoping they will be kind and not repeat the past that has led to many problems we face today. The consequences of colonization, slavery, greed for land and power from generations past are still haunting us in the injustices and wars we see happening all over the world. When humans haven't created life, they don't have the right to take it or judge it. We can all do our part by learning, becoming more empathetic, and always remembering to treat others better than the way you want to be treated.
We have taken the time to read more on history. Warfare and World War II Map by Map books have given us more knowledge. When we learn about the wars of the past and what actions lead to these wars, it will hopefully help us all to be careful with our actions, so our actions don't breed hatred and create problems that cannot be undone.

World War II Map by Map is a visual history book. The custom maps tell the story of the Second World War from the rise of the Axis powers to the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Each map is detailed with graphics to help the read understand the progress of key events of World War II on land, sea, and air, such as the Dunkirk evacuation, the attack on Pearl Harbour, the D-Day landings, and the siege of Stalingrad.
Historical maps from both Allied and Axis countries offer insights into the events. There are timelines to help follow the story as it unfolds, while narrative overviews explain the social, economic, political, and technical developments at the time. The large-scale pictures introduce topics such as the Holocaust, blitzkrieg, kamikaze warfare, and code breaking. This book is written by a team of historians in consultation with Richard Overy. World War II Map by Map has information about everything that was going on around the world after WWI and everything that caused the deadliest conflict in history that changed the face of our world.
When history is presented with images and details, it is not boring to learn and for us to take the time to understand. Being able to see it from all perspectives is important so we can see the facts and get a clearer picture of what happened, so we can try to understand everyone's point of view.
