As a parent, when you are constantly on-the-go it can make things feel hard and sometimes frustrating because of factors like lack of sleep and an endless amount of things to do. This is why it is important to take some time away to relax, replenish, recuperate to appreciate what we have. If you are lucky to have some help to take some time for yourself, set some rules to make the most of it.
Relax and Get Pampered
Go shopping before your trip to get things that make you feel comfortable, maybe some new clothes, shoes, and lingerie like hipster panties. Proper relaxation and spending time at a spa or giving yourself a spa week means you can finally let your mind and body calm down. A proper massage that gets at every knot is going to make you feel far more rejuvenated before you head back. Even if you're not into massages, some quality time relaxing in a jacuzzi means you are able to settle in.
Choose the Right Setting
Going into the middle of a hustling and bustling city center might not be an ideal getaway since you are trying to relax your senses. It is up to you on what type of getaway you choose. If a luxurious place like a spa makes you feel relaxed choose that. If a more rustic or nature-oriented getaway like camping where you feel more comfortable in yourself choose that.
Quality time
The goal is for you to get away and spend quality time with yourself and/or your partner. TV is only going to stop you from having good conversations and having that time to reconnect to each other. If you want to have a more meaningful time, you should minimize devices, apart from when you call back to see how everybody is.
If you have not been able take some time for yourself because you've needed to prioritize everybody else, then it is important to do so - those little moments where you can be yourself will do a lot.
