Making your own jewellery is a great way to personalize your style. Creating your own pieces of jewellery can not only save money, but it can also give you an opportunity to design unique items that reflect your taste and personality. Crafting jewellery is a fun and creative hobby that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
How To Make Bracelets
If you're interested in making your own bracelets at home, there are a few things you'll need to get started.
Beads - You'll need beads in the colours and sizes of your choice. You can find beads at craft stores, online, or even reuse old jewellery that you no longer wear.
Elastic cord - This will be used to string the beads together. You can find elastic cords at most craft stores.
Scissors - You'll need these to cut the elastic cord once you've finished stringing the beads.
A needle - This is optional, but a needle can be helpful for threading the elastic cord through the beads.
The first step is to gather your materials. Once you have everything you need, start by selecting the beads you want to use. String them onto the elastic cord, using the needle if needed.
Once all of the beads are on the cord, tie a knot at each end to secure them in place. Then, cut off any excess cord with the scissors. And that's it - you've now made your own bracelet!
How To Make Rings
Similar to bracelets, if you want to make your own rings you will need...
Beads or gemstones - You'll need beads in the colours and sizes of your choice. You can find beads at craft stores, order loose diamonds at Whiteflash.com, or even reuse old jewellery that you no longer wear.
Wire - This will be used to create the ring base. You can find the wire at most craft stores.
Pliers - These will be used to bend and shape the wire.
A mandrel (or anything else that is cylindrical in shape) - This is optional, but a mandrel can be helpful for shaping the wire into a ring.
The first step is to gather the materials. Once you have everything you need, start by selecting the beads you want to use. String them onto the wire, leaving enough at the end to wrap around the mandrel (or another object) to form a ring. Once all of the beads are on the wire, use the pliers to bend the wire into a ring shape. Wrap the excess wire around the mandrel (or another object) to secure it in place. Then, cut off any excess wire with the pliers. Your ring is ready to be worn.
