Ways To Be Creative

What's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the word 'creative'? No matter what you pick, it's going to be on the list as there are so many different ways to be creative. But have you thought about all the things you didn't mention and considered how many different ways there are to be creative.

Artistic Expression

What does artistic expression mean? Well, it's the name we're giving to one of the biggest categories of creativity, and once you see what's involved, you'll realize why it makes more sense to bundle everything together rather than to try to list everything out one by one.

What we mean by 'artistic expression' is probably what most people consider to be creativity because it includes all the traditional things like painting and drawing, sculpture, photography, pottery, and so on. These activities are fantastic because they allow you to let out your feelings and thoughts, tell stories, and come up with ideas in a visual way that others can see and enjoy.

Performing Arts

Another way to be creative is to get involved in the performing arts in some way. That includes music, dance, theater, and so on, and they’re great because they're an immediate way to show how you feel, even if you're saying someone else's words in a play or doing someone else's choreography. What's even better is that this kind of creativity can involve both physical and mental work. Don't forget that all creativity is going to take some hard work, even if you're particularly gifted in some way, so it's ideal for keeping you happy and healthy and boosting your overall wellbeing.

Whether you choose to work on the stage or backstage, whether you want to perform or produce the things that other people perform, there's nothing quite so exciting as being able to get involved with the performing arts because it offers immediate feedback and you can get a real connection with the people in the audience.

Strategic Creativity

The things we've mentioned above are probably the ones on most people's lists of how to be creative, but there are so many others including strategic creativity. That basically means finding innovative solutions to problems by thinking outside the box, and what's good about this kind of creativity is that it can apply to any career or business or even personal challenges that might come up. In other words, you'll always have plenty of opportunities to be creative in your day-to-day life.

If you're able to approach problems with a creative mindset, you're going to find, you come up with much more interesting and unique solutions. This can not only deal with the issue, it can also help make whatever it is you're doing stand out, which is perfect if you're in business, for example. The slight issue here is that getting into that mindset isn't always easy, but there are ways to practice it, such as doing online puzzles and games like spider solitaire.

DIY Projects

DIY, do it yourself, projects are a great way to keep your hands and brain busy, and the end result can be wonderful, meaning your home or garden looks much better than it did when you started.

Of course, when it comes to DIY you do need to plan carefully, so don't rush into things. In fact, the planning can be part of the creativity process because you'll be able to come up with some lovely ideas to make your home look and feel exactly how you want it to, and once you're happy with those ideas, you can get started on the practical side of DIY.
