Stratford Ontario, a quaint little town couple of hours from Toronto, is perfect for a weekend getaway or an impromptu road trip. Theatre is what has always attracted us to Stratford, but once you are there the serene atmosphere by the river, beautiful gardens, and all the little retail shops and restaurants around town will surely keep everyone in the family busy.
Over the years, we have made our garden pollinator friendly by adding a variety of features! It is exciting to watch these homes and places being utilized by benefiting creatures. We have also seen the benefits of these features as they have encouraged different types of bees to come into the garden and help pollinate flowers - especially in our vegetable garden.
The bee hotels we placed in our garden were made in a post or block style, and painted with acrylic paint for aesthetics. We leave these homes all year round in the garden.

During our visit, we had the pleasure of spending a night at Auberge Saint-Antoine, and checking out different places in Québec City on a bus tour of the city.
After our visit to the Huron Traditional Site, we checked into Hôtel-Musée Premières Nations in Wendake, Québec. This beautiful boutique hotel built in 2008 is inspired by First Nations' culture and the relations they share with the rest of the world: nature, spirituality, and mythology.
The classic novel of Anne of Green Gables I read at school as a child, and the movies we have watched was an inspiration for our trip to Prince Edward Island in 2010. In our previous trip we flew to P.E.I, so this time we planned to stop in Summerside, Cavendish, and Charlottetown during our road trip from Ontario to Quebec and New Brunswick to revisit the places our children once visited when they were little. Prince Edward Island situated in the Gulf of St. Lawrence is a place we always think of returning to because of its beautiful sandy beaches, and something about the island that always calls you back.

We enjoy having the option of downloading Netflix shows, and taking it with us when we are on-the-go! It totally helps us pack light when travelling - no need to take along DVDs! The downloaded shows and movies from Netflix certainly came in very handy numerous times during our long road trips this summer.
The past Thanksgiving weekend, we went on a Fall excursion three hours west of Toronto to explore Huron County. We drove the comfortable 2017 Ford Edge Titanium to explore the town of Goderich. The vast open farm land on our way there made us feel like we were in the prairies.
We had the most amazing experience of learning and appreciation during our trip to Manitoulin Island. It is the largest freshwater island in the world with countless trails and exploration that is good for the soul.
