Outdoors @ the Shaw Shawground Experience

This summer, we enjoyed the interactive experience of Outdoors @ The Shaw! It was a fun and unique experience, different from the past theatre experiences we have had at Shaw Festival theatre as it was set outdoors without the lights and costumes. The beautiful afternoon we spent at the lush grounds of the Festival Theatre in Niagara-on-the-lake while immersing ourselves in the Shavian affair was a memorable one!

Holiday Inn at Shaw Festival

We loved watching Holiday Inn at Shaw Festival. As director, Kate Hennig notes in a world plagued by anxiety and fear we feel guilty to enjoy simple pleasures like looking at the blue skies, going for an old-fashioned walk, enjoying the holidays. This musical reminds us to take the time to be happy in our pursuit of happiness! 

The Horse and His Boy at the Shaw Festival

Going to the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the-lake would make a memorable weekend getaway or a day trip. Every year there is a show that is perfect for families with young children and teenagers. This year it is The Horse and His Boy based on C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia. Last year, we watched the Magician's Nephew also based on the children's fantasy novel Narnia. My children have read the novels and watched a few of the movies, they were excited to see how the story would be acted on stage.

Theatre and the arts in Stratford, Ontario

We love being creative every opportunity we get. Sometimes, we find the need for a little inspiration to spark our creative energy, and we got this when we went to see the play The Music Man, and took a tour of the Costume Warehouse during our time in Stratford and Perth County. 

Experiencing The Magician’s Nephew at Shaw Festival

During the Shaw Festival 2017, we had a memorable experience watching Wilde Tales. Our children enjoyed being part of the one-hour pre-show workshop, where they got to work with the cast and be part of the play. This year we were eager to see what show will be suitable to watch as a family - and went to watch The Magician's Nephew at the Festival Theatre, and experience the one hour workshop of Creating the Magician's Nephew before the show.
